PMIRGC Books & Beyond
“The Design of Everyday Things”, by Don Norman. The current edition is little changed from the original, which was an inspiration for the development of Agile – designing with the end user in mind, instead of pleasing the engineers on the team.
This seems a common-sense topic, with not much to discuss, but how many times have you had a team who decides what the end users want and need? How many times have you struggled with stakeholders who insist on designing the solution, instead of articulating the problem? It’s an easy read with a timeless message and gives us inspiration in how we can more directly engage both our teams and stakeholders.
