Some of us are seeking a successful, professional career, and others have a successful career, but we want to pass on our knowledge. How do we achieve our goals? One way is through synergy (the working together of two things to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects.)
If you find yourself wanting synergistic relationships and you want to give or receive guidance for success, then initiate your membership opportunity to access the PMIRGC Mentorship Program:
PMI has acquired ProjectManagement.com and ProjectsAtWork.com, two of the largest online resources for project managers and professionals. For more than a decade, both websites have provided project managers with access to a broad range of tools and templates, PMO events and one of the most vibrant and diverse global online communities for professionals in project management.
Now that you are a credential holder, you need to adhere to PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. To follow the program, participate in professional development activities to earn professional development units (PDUs) and maintain your credential. To learn more about the program, what are PDUs, how to earn and claim them, as well as step-by-step instructions on how to renew your certification, watch the CCR Video.
You are also not required to join PMIRGC to attend events, but you will receive discounts and the benefits of the members only site if you join. For more details about PMIRGC Click here. If you are already a PMI member, try us out for free! Click here
We welcome all who are interested in the project management profession.
[Note: This is an update to the article “10 Easy Ways to Earn PDUs" that was published in July 2010. The update is necessary because PMI changed the categories, structure and policies governing Professional Development Units (PDUs). See http://www.pmi.org/en/GLOBALS/PDU-Updated-Category-Structure-Implementation.aspx.]

The PDU Advantage Program gives you the opportunity to earn PDUs quickly, easily and at no additional cost through PMI membership.
Simply pay your annual PMI membership dues and you’re automatically enrolled. You’ll have access to hundreds of PDU-earning opportunities ranging from participation in our communities of practice to viewing our on-demand webinars.
The Rio Grande Chapter of PMI holds Evening and Breakfast meetings every month allowing you to earn 24 PDUs per year. You can earn more by participating as a volunteer or serving on the board.
Can I Earn PDUs for Writing Project Management Articles?
Yes you can! Ever since the Project Management Institute (PMI) published the new Category and Structure for Professional Development Units (PDUs) in March of 2011, earning PDUs has become much easier. This is especially visible in Category D “Creating New Project Management Knowledge”: Every hour that you spend creating and/or presenting new project management knowledge counts as 1 PDU.
Several options are available to PMI Rio Grande Chapter members.
