Greetings:

Welcome to the PMI Rio Grande Chapter (PMIRGC) organization and website.  I am privileged to serve as your president for 2017-2018. PMI is an amazing organization, and our local chapter has so much to offer. Please get involved (or further involved) and your efforts will be rewarded with a wonderful group of people, and opportunities for learning, networking, and more.

The PMIRGC mission includes the following:

  • To advance the practice and profession of Project Management,
  • To encourage and facilitate education, certification, and professionalism in Project Management,
  • To provide a forum for discussion and examination of problems, solutions, applications, and ideas related to the management of projects, and
  • To disseminate, within the primary area of operation of the Chapter, information regarding developments in Project Management.

We represent the Project Management community and all things Project Management. Project Managers work across many domains, and are involved with an amazing variety of projects. This is a growing field, with opportunities worldwide. Chapters are located on six continents and numerous countries around the world. Our local chapter in central and southern New Mexico, PMIRGC, has been active for over 30 years. We are a volunteer-run organization and need your help to continue our many offerings. Please reach out to me or any of the Board members.

We offer many opportunities to advance your Project Management skills: dinner meetings, breakfast meetings, mentorship, job postings, annual conference, training classes, scholarships, and many other opportunities. We will be holding our strategic planning session shortly to plan our focus and tactics for the year, and I welcome your suggestions. Please feel free to email me at president@pmirgc.org.

Sincerely,

Joel Matek
PMIRGC President
