Welcome to the PMI Rio Grande Chapter (PMIRGC)
Founded in 1985, and located in the greater Albuquerque, New Mexico metro area, the PMI Rio Grande Chapter (PMIRGC) is your local chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the largest and most diverse international organization in the world dedicated to the profession of project management.
PMI has 274 chartered chapters that are the “face” of PMI in over 75 countries. These chapters are led by approximately 3,450 dedicated volunteers holding board positions and other levels of support. PMIRGC has approximately 425 members, representing 160 companies, which represent project management in industry, consulting, government, and academia.
PMIRGC was incorporated on July 9, 2001 as a 501(c)(6) non-profit corporation as defined by the United States Internal Revenue Service. The mailing address is: PMI Rio Grande Chapter, PO BOX 27467, Albuquerque, NM 87125.

Joining the local PMI Chapter provides you with benefits that include knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.
You do not have to be a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) to become a member. You are not required to join PMIRGC to attend events, but if you join, you will receive discounts and the benefits of the members only site.
We welcome all who are interested in the project management profession.
These are some of the PMIRGC benefits:
Member Discounts for all of our events, such as monthly chapter meetings, networking events, and training courses.
Monthly Chapter Dinner Meetings – 3rd Thursday of each month, 6pm, September through May (no chapter meetings in June, July, August, and December).
These meetings provide interesting speakers with informational presentations from project management experts, great food (vegetarian available), and networking. During the two hour meeting, you will receive a full-course meal and one hour of professional development training, resulting in 1.5 PDUs. Chapter meetings also provide great networking and career building opportunities with people that work in and around where you live.
Monthly Breakfast Meetings - 2nd Tuesday of the month, 7am, September through May (non in in June, July, and August). 1 PDU event, no registration fee - purchase of meal is only payment.
Professional Development Training
Throughout the year, PMIRGC is dedicated to bringing project management training to your local area. Training opportunities are announced in the monthly newsletter and on the Chapter website. Be sure to send your topics of interest to the PMIRGC President.
Another benefit PMIRGC provides is partnerships with businesses for local professional training. If you have a project management course that your business would like to provide to employees, but would like to forgo the travel expenses, you can partner with PMIRGC to offer discounted training and to grow class size to justify bringing the training to local sites. PMIRGC holds networking sessions in the Albuquerque metro area for you to meet your fellow project management practitioners. These events are announced in the Chapter newsletter and on the Chapter website.
Community Involvement-Volunteer Opportunities
PMIRGC partners with local businesses and educational institutions to promote the practice of project management in the local area. These are key opportunities for you, the membership, to get involved in improving our approach to project management in the local area.
Newsletter and informational website - Access to National and Local Job Listings
You will recieve a montly PMIRGC newsletter and have access to PMIRGC website with monthly Chapter presentation files, job listings, free PDU opportunities, articles, blogs, templates, and PMP Exam Prep resources. Member access provides ability to change local password and view personal PMIRGC PDU registration list.
PMIRGC offers a mentorship program. The program is available only to current PMIRGC members. To learn more about becoming a member, click HERE.
PMIRGC offers sponsorships to organizations and vendors who wish to be marketed to the members in our organization. Money raised from these sponsorships will be used for scholarships for students of project management. Our 400+ members work in a variety of areas and are always looking for products and services that will add value to their career.
