Topic: Care and Feeding of your Death March Project
For October, I’d like to present a topic outside our scheduled material. Hold onto your hats, it’s going to be a wild ride…
When do you know when a project is not just a death-march, but has you thinking Michael Bay may want to purchase rights to bring it to the big screen? Is it because you just found out your software vendor hired Private Investigators to go through your trash? Is it that almost every PMI chapter is racing to present it as a ‘what not to do’?
We’re not here to denigrate or poke fun, because this could easily be one of us. We’re getting together to review what happened, what went wrong, and learn from such projects - read the weather and recover from epic failure. Captains go down with the ship; Project Managers orchestrate carrying the ship to shore (hint – has to do with using the backs of sharks).
Please join us in a review of the ‘Cover Oregon’ Web deployment and assessment, some incredibly insightful best methods coming out of that work, and what leading experts recommend when you are handed “that Project”.
